idverde Scoops Industry’s Top Accolade for Grounds Maintenance

idverde is delighted to have received a coveted British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI Award) Principal Award for grounds maintenance at Manor Gardens in Bexhill.

The BALI National Landscape Awards, in association with Horticulture Week and headline sponsor Green-tech, are held annually at London’s Grosvenor House on Park Lane and are the largest landscape awards scheme in Europe. They recognise the excellence in landscape design, construction and maintenance, and in Affiliate customer service, achieved by Registered members of the British Association of Landscape Industries. 115 entries were received this year and 80 awards made.

The Principal Awards are presented to BALI members whose BALI National award-winning scheme is deemed by the judges to be best in its category, displaying exemplary levels of professionalism, workmanship and client satisfaction that bring credit to the landscape industry.

The BALI Award for Grounds Maintenance (Free Public Access) was presented to idverde’s South East team and representatives from our client, Rother District Council, at the glittering awards ceremony on 1st December, which was attended by over 1,000 industry members and VIPs and compered by popular BBC journalist and Breakfast business presenter Steph McGovern.

Located in the seaside town of Bexhill, Manor Gardens is tended by idverde gardener Michael Cranfield. As part of the judging process, the Gardens were visited by one of BALI’s team of official adjudicators, who commented:

“These beautiful gardens in Bexhill-on-Sea are pristine and the warmth and passion that goes into their care shines through at every turn. … It is clear from the attention to detail throughout the gardens that maintaining them is a labour of love for the gardener.”

This is the fifth consecutive year that idverde’s grounds maintenance teams have been recognised with BALI’s Principal Award. Previous years’ winning entries include Loughborough’s Queen’s Park in 2016, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in 2015, Southwark Park in 2014, and Burgess Park and Holland Park’s Kyoto Garden in 2013.

Commenting on the Principal Award, idverde CEO Doug Graham said:

“We are delighted to have been awarded the Principal Award for the outstanding work of our team at Manor Gardens in Bexhill. Whilst the Gardens have always been maintained to a high standard, the work of our Head Gardener, Michael Cranfield, demonstrates the passion and personal pride that our idverde colleagues bring to work each and every day.”

In addition to the Principal Award for Manor Gardens, idverde also collected National Awards for Houghton Hall Park in the Regeneration over £500k category, and the Gateway Project at Salford University in the Hard Landscaping (non-domestic) between £300k and £1.5m category.
