On behalf of Charnwood Borough Council, idverde continues to work in partnership with Leicestershire Cares and were delighted to welcome volunteers from Alltruck plc to Loughborough’s Sidings Park for one of their annual team challenges.
Following a short safety briefing in the park, the enthusiastic volunteers got stuck into the work which included weeding through the herbaceous border and also weeding the two raised flower beds either side of the main path.
Happily, the weather stayed sunny and dry which meant that a picnic lunch could be enjoyed in the park following a morning of hard work pulling up the weeds.
Work continued after lunch with members of the group half-mooning and edging up the path. They were quite surprised to find that this task was actually a lot more physical than they initially thought it would be. However, they did a fantastic job and were thrilled with the results of their efforts. Indeed, local members of the community using the park at the time were equally delighted with the results and paid the group plenty of well-deserved compliments on their handiwork.
idverde looks forward to continuing to work with Leicestershire Cares and are would like to thank the volunteers from Alltruck plc for their help in ensuring that Sidings Park looks great for the local community.
