Specification: To create surface stability
Watford Football Club asked us to resurface its pitch with Mixto. The current pitch was on sand, which wasn’t suitable for constant playing and led to surface instability.
We surveyed the pitch and recommended that the club used the opportunity to blend an 80/20 sand and soil mixture into the upper rootzone to help retain nutrients. We then laid 7,500m2 of Mixto onto the site which was infilled with 450 tonnes of sand.
Once settled, the pitch now offers a much more stable surface, and the quality of the root mixture means that the pitch can be kept in much better condition.
