idverde wins 2 BALI National Landscape Awards for Sky Garden and the Regent’s Park

idverde, UK & Europe’s leading green services provider has been awarded 2 prestigious National Landscape Awards by the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) for their grounds maintenance work on Sky Garden and The Regent’s Park.

Earlier this year, idverde submitted applications nominating their team’s hard work and professional excellence for interior landscape work carried out in Sky Garden, and grounds maintenance for the Regent’s Park; both based in London. Both contracts require delivering beautiful green publicly accessible spaces that are enjoyed by over a million tourists and visitors each year.

Part of idverde’s success with the Regent’s Park stems from their work creating stunning floral displays, maintaining ornamental lawns and biodiversity-rich spaces along with sports pitches and even enhancing horticultural expertise through apprenticeship schemes onsite.

With sustainability being a driving force for idverde, the Regent’s Park team, led by Lucy Fisher, even orchestrated the grounds maintenance works surrounding two historic events; the Queen’s funeral and the King’s coronation. This work included a request for sustainable management by his majesty, King Charles III; and with park and idverde volunteer colleagues working round the clock, the events proceeded sensitively and professionally.

BALI judge, Elizabeth Connelly, commented: “The team’s approach to planting design experimentation, leading on bed regeneration and refurbishment, supporting apprenticeships and interventions to promote biodiversity are commendable and a credit to the teams involved.”

Sky Garden also piqued the interest of the judging panel for BALI by delivering an excellent service in a challenging, dynamic environment with logistical constraints. The space is managed sensitively by the team to deliver an environment that is responsive to the growing conditions and remains sustainable while providing a nod to the original design intention.

BALI judge, Elizabeth Connelly, commented: “The vitality, coverage and diversity of the planting is a testament to the team who continue to regenerate and maintain this variable sub-tropical landscape for all to enjoy. The impressive living wall to the entrance is well maintained to provide consistent good coverage and plant diversity. Overall, a wellmaintained scheme executed to a high standard.”

CEO of idverde, Kristian Lennard, commented: “This exceptional feedback from BALI truly reflects the dedication and hard work of the idverde teams. The National Landscape Awards plays an important role in identifying the innovation, teamwork and conscientiousness of those around the UK who are working towards building a greener future, where green spaces can be maintained and enjoyed in a way that enhances their true potential.”

idverde’s Managing Director, Richard Burton, commented: “This is deserving recognition for all the team at The Regents Park and The Sky Garden for the dedication and hard work that goes into maintaining the green spaces to the very highest standard.

The British Association of Landscape Industries announced 69 winners of the National Landscape Awards 2023. The awards have been presented to 50 companies, spanning 25 categories.

BALI Chief Executive Wayne Grills. commented: “Each year it makes me immensely proud to witness and share with you the winners of the National Landscape Awards. The significance of our members putting themselves forward to be scrutinised by their peers and a panel of judges should not be underestimated. The willingness to partake in this process highlights our members continued commitment to driving the industry forward, promoting excellence and encouraging fresh talent. The Association’s Board of Directors and I would like to congratulate all of this year’s winners on their fantastic achievement.”

The National Landscape Awards ceremony will be held at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House, Park Lane in London on 1 December.
