Trent & Dove Housing celebrated their 12th Annual Impact on the Community Awards on Friday 3rd November to reward unsung heroes within East Staffordshire, South Derbyshire and North West Leicestershire.

Each year, the awards evening recognises all of the vital work carried out by individual people and organisations and shines a spotlight on the projects which are “Transforming Homes, Lives and Neighbourhoods” in our region.

idverde delivers grounds maintenance services for Trent and Dove housing, and showed its support by once again sponsoring an award category. This year, idverde sponsored the Tenant / Volunteer of the Year category, and the award was presented on the night by idverde Assistant Manager, Matt Dovydaitis.

The elegant awards ceremony was held at The Pirelli Stadium and guests were given the full “Oscars” treatment befitting their status as outstanding members in their communities.

Trent & Dove received an outstanding amount of nominations this year. Almost 60 individuals and organisations were selected for an award, which made the judging very difficult.

The surprise celebrity host for the evening was Matt Allwright, best known for presenting Watchdog, Rogue Traders and The One Show. Matt was sought by Trent & Dove for many years due to his connection with housing as presenter of The Housing Enforcers and they finally managed to land him this year.

Chief Executive of Trent & Dove Housing Ursula Bennion said, “A wonderful time was had by all and as always hugely inspiring and humbling stories of people and organisations doing great things (often under the radar) in our area!”

Trent & Dove Housing would like to thank all of their partners who sponsored the fantastic event. Without their generosity it would not be possible to reward the sterling work that individuals and community groups do.

One of the main sponsors of the night, J Tomlinson said “A really great event and a well worthy cause. Each year we are given the opportunity not only to be involved on the judging panel but to also sponsor and attend the event. All the individuals are winners at the end of the day and it is wonderful to see so much support in the community through everyone’s hard work.”
