Mulberry Park

Mulberry Park was originally a field with duck ponds on the edge of the scenic Peak District in Macclesfield.

Background

Mulberry Park was originally a field with duck ponds on the edge of the scenic Peak District in Macclesfield. Redrow Homes have recently completed phase one of a housing development on the site, which consisted of building 134 homes as a part of their heritage collection.

Our Role

idverde was appointed for the project due to their vast experience in sales area landscaping, having landscaped areas nationally for Redrow in London, Bedfordshire, Chester and other areas. idverde landscaped the sales areas, public open spaces (POS) and all housing plots for the development.

A community planting day was held in the gardens of Redrow’s new sales complex. idverde’s landscape operatives helped educate the children from a local nursery on planting.

idverde supplied herbs and child-sized planting equipment, whilst staff supervised as the children planted the herbs. “I wanted to encourage the children to get creative and involved with their environment,” said Carolyn Griffiths, young arts representative. “idverde has been a huge help and the children can look forward to caring for their own plants.”

Scope of Work

idverde’s colleagues offered a personal and collaborative approach to their work. “We’re always keen on going the extra mile for the client, which is why it’s vital to be closely involved with them and offer an approachable service.” – Darren Arnold, idverde Landscape Operative

Approach & Results

idverde was originally asked to landscape the housing plots, sales areas and POS, and due to their established relationship with the client they went above and beyond. Their teams added plants to brighten up areas of the development where it was needed, as well as landscaping the roundabout on the entrance of the project, providing consistency throughout.

A current resident expressed concerns that the view from their home faced fencing when they had wished to be surrounded by more greenery. idverde planted ornamental trees to conceal the fencing and brighten up the areas around the resident’s home.

“We recently had director visits at Mulberry park and everyone thought that the show-home landscaping was incredible and the best in the region. A big thank you to idverde for all of their hard work.” – Caroline Jones, Redrow Area Manager
