idverde to support Wiltshire Council in Great British Spring Clean 2026

Wiltshire’s grounds maintenance contractor, idverde, will again be supporting this year’s Great British Spring Clean (GBSC) initiative in conjunction with Wiltshire Council and local communities. The Great British Spring Clean is the nation’s biggest mass-action environmental campaign.

idverde can assist Community Litter Picking Groups and individual volunteers with litter picking equipment including Hi-Viz jackets and disposal of the collected litter bags.

To celebrate your success, we want to know how much bagged litter each group collects, and we will add these statistics to Keep Britain Tidy’s national targets.

idverde’s Community Engagement Manager, Paul Ashman will be working with community groups and individual volunteers taking part in this year’s Great British Spring Clean from March 13 to March 29, 2026, back for its eleventh year.

Last year’s Great British Spring Clean which took place from 21st March – 6 April 2025 resulted in.

  • 48 collections completed
  • 668 bags collected
  • Total of 4008 kg
  • 480 of volunteer hours

Paul Ashman said “The Great British Spring Clean is a fantastic opportunity for communities to come together and make a real difference to their local environment. Every bag collected helps create cleaner, greener spaces for everyone to enjoy. We’re proud to support Wiltshire Council and local volunteers again next year and look forward to seeing the amazing results from everyone’s hard work.”

Cllr Martin Smith, Cabinet Member for Highways and Street Scene, said: “Keeping Wiltshire clean is something we can all take pride in. Litter not only spoils the beauty of our towns and countryside, but it also poses risks to wildlife and the environment. The Great British Spring Clean is a brilliant chance for everyone to play their part in protecting the places we love.

“I’m hugely grateful to the many volunteers, schools, and community groups who already give their time to litter picking – your efforts make a real difference. Each year, the council spends more than £2 million clearing litter, but we can’t do it alone. That’s why we’re asking our communities to get involved.

“This year, we want to go even further. We’ll provide equipment and collect the bagged waste, so it’s easy to get involved. If you can spare a little time to join the campaign and become a #LitterHero, you’ll be helping to keep Wiltshire clean and green for everyone.”
