idverde UK clients have a golden year in regional In Bloom competitions

idverde UK’s clients can claim to have some of the most beautiful public spaces in Britain, following the announcements of the results of this year’s regional ‘In Bloom’ competitions.

The regional In Bloom awards are part of the wider annual RHS Britain in Bloom competition. Over 1,600 communities take part in the regional campaigns, and are assessed for their efforts in the areas of horticultural achievement, community participation and environmental responsibility. Those that do well at this level may be selected to take part in the RHS Britain in Bloom finals.

idverde UK is pleased to be able to support its clients and local stakeholder groups in these annual awards in a range of ways, including sponsorship, plant donations and providing horticultural advice.

This year idverde UK has contributed to 15 Gold Awards, 6 Silver Gilt Awards, and a Silver Award in partnership with its clients, including:

  • Five Gold, and four Silver Gilt Awards for parks and green spaces in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea at London in Bloom, including the best in category award for Gunnersbury Cemetery in the Large Cemetery category. The Royal Borough was also awarded a Silver Gilt overall;
  • Four Anglia in Bloom Gold Awards and a Silver Gilt Award for parks and green spaces in Colchester, including the best in category award for High Woods Country Park in the Large Parks category;
  • Golds in Heart of England in Bloom for Birmingham in Bloom, Burton in Bloom, Uttoxeter and Winshill.
  • Gold at East Midlands in Bloom for Loughborough in Bloom, with Loughborough’s Queen’s Park also receiving the discretionary TDP East Midlands in Bloom Award for Horticultural Excellence in Parks.

Loughborough and Colchester have also been selected as finalists for this year’s nationwide RHS Britain in Bloom competition, while Uttoxeter, as overall winner of the Town Category in this year’s Heart of England in Bloom awards, will represent the region in 2017’s national competition.

Clive Ivil, Director of idverde’s Communities and Open Spaces division, commented:idverde UK’s legacy companies [The Landscape Group and Quadron Services] have always been enthusiastic supporters of the In Bloom awards. Our teams enjoy the opportunity to work in partnership with our clients and local In Bloom groups to prepare their areas for judging, and it is always rewarding to see this teamwork recognised when the results are revealed.

“This year’s results are well-deserved and testament to the dedication of Britain’s communities in keeping their areas blooming.”
