Telford & Wrekin Council

The Borough of Telford & Wrekin is located between the urban areas of Birmingham and the Black Country to the east and the rural areas of Shropshire and Wales to the west.

The borough has many green and natural places, several formal parks and gardens, including Telford Town Park, and a large number of designated sites of local and national biodiversity.

idverde has been responsible for the provision of grounds maintenance and street cleansing services across the Telford and Wrekin administrative area since 01 April 2019. This includes:

  • Parks maintenance
  • Maintenance of grassed areas
  • Flower, shrub and herbaceous beds maintenance
  • Floral displays
  • Hedge maintenance
  • Playgrounds
  • Sports facilities maintenance
  • Volunteer support
  • Cleansing of highways, roads, and car parks
  • Emptying litter and dog waste bins
  • Removal of graffiti and fly-posting

idverde understands that Telford & Wrekin’s residents place a high value on the quality of their local environment. Our contract team, including our dedicated Community Development Manager, will work closely with stakeholder groups to forge relationships and increase opportunities for local people to be involved in the ongoing management of their parks and green spaces.

Commenting on the award of the contract, idverde’s Organic Development Director, Saul Huxley, said: “Our service makes a huge difference to the quality of life for Telford residents; we’re all affected by what our environment looks and feels like when we step outside each day.

“This is a very important new contract for us, and we’re in it for the long term. We’re also looking forward to working with residents, volunteers, community groups, council officers and elected members.”

Shrub beds

Our highly qualified horticulture teams will carry out shrub bed maintenance as follows:

  • Grade 1 shrub beds: 12 visits per year

Our teams will also carry out regular street cleansing tasks, including litter picking, sweeping, and weed control.
