idverde supports VAHT Community Caretaker Team in Grow Your Own Promotion

The annual ‘Play in the Park’ day run by Aylesbury Vale District Council attracts thousands of visitors, with over 2,500 children bringing their parents along to join in with National Play Day. With over 47 businesses, charities and organisations lending support to the event in Vale Park there were a number of free activities and games for families to participate in, bringing the whole community together.
VAHT and idverde jointly attended the day, with a stand providing information on the partnership and also demonstrating how to build your own cost-effective planters. The demonstrations were popular with a number of local residents stopping to observe and filling in questionnaires about the demos and their interest in having a go themselves. A free prize raffle was organised by VAHT with extra prizes donated by idverde.
Edward Griffiths, contract manager at idverde in the Aylesbury district, comments:
“We work closely with VAHT and the community caretaker team to ensure that our services are meeting the needs of residents and the local community. By supporting local events such as this, we get the opportunity to meet the residents of the communities we work within and make sure that we understand their expectations, as well as offer advice to them in our areas of expertise such as gardening and horticulture. The day was a great success and I now look forward to judging a residents’ In Bloom competition!’
