Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader, specialising in schools. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills, a passion for grounds maintenance, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our school clients. Previous experience in grounds maintenance and management roles within a relevant environment is desirable.

We work closely with over 20 schools across the area to maintain safe, attractive, and functional outdoor environments conducive to learning and play. Our team has proudly provided exceptional grounds maintenance services tailored to the unique needs of each school we serve for the last 13 years.

We are looking for individuals who are dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of school communities through effective grounds maintenance leadership. You will require to have a DBS check and hold a driving license.

Key duties for the role include:

  • Leading a team of grounds maintenance operatives in the upkeep of school grounds
  • Planning and scheduling maintenance activities to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
  • Conducting regular inspections and quality checks to maintain high standards of workmanship
  • Providing training, guidance, and support to team members to enhance their skills and performance
  • Liaising with school staff and stakeholders to understand their requirements and address any concerns or requests
  • Managing resources, equipment, and materials effectively to optimise productivity and cost-efficiency
  • Upholding health and safety standards and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies
  • Undertaking hands-on grounds maintenance tasks as required, including mowing, pruning, weeding, and litter picking
