Malden Manor

idverde worked with South West Trains to design a pocket community garden next to Malden Manor Station to establish an ‘Adopt a station group’, as part of wider South-West Trains community initiative. The garden is named after John Everett Millais, the Pre-Raphaelite artist, who stayed at the Manor House which is just up the road from the station.

We consulted user groups and designed a space where people can meet, explore their Green fingers, enjoy a bit of gardening while holding various community events and activities. The project is a fabulous example of a Sustainable Green Community project that has helped strangers become neighbours; we look forward to the project becoming a community hub for keen gardeners across Kingston to meet and exchange horticultural advice and provide.
