idverde is committed to working as part of an active community to improve the green spaces throughout the Hastings and Rother area. There are a number of Friends and Community groups in the area that work to improve the environment for residents.

Friends of Alexandra Park
The Friends of Alexandra Park have worked on schemes such as: Bog Garden project, Green House Restoration group, potential grant application to re-design Rose Garden, fundraising for sand pit in lower park playground, tree labelling and tree walks leaflet. The Friends are partners for a Veolia £10k environmental improvement project for works in Shornden Meadow & Buckshole catchment ponds.

Friends of St. Leonards Gardens
The Friends hold the lease for South Lodge and open it to the public three days per week, offering guided walks and events, volunteer gardeners group, external funding bid for interpretation material for the Lodge/Gardens, project to improve building frontage, the Friends also provide welfare facilities for idverde staff.

The Parchment Trust is a gardening charity situated nearby that work with adults with learning disabilities. They assist Friary Gardeners with grass cutting inside the church ruin and graveyard.
Autism Sussex (SACT)

Ore in Bloom assist with grounds maintenance of The Green, maintaining hanging baskets/planter and they undertake enhancement of roadside verges via tree, bulb and meadow planting.

The group holds the lease for the miniature railway, running train rides for the public every 1st & 3rd Sunday, they also maintain the area inside tracks and boundary fences.
