idverde has been working with Basildon Borough Council to deliver grounds maintenance services across the Borough since 2010, when the company (then known as The Landscape Group) was awarded the initial seven-year contract.

The company was delighted to then be re-awarded the contract for a further seven years from April 2017.

Services delivered under the contract include grass maintenance, hedge pruning, and maintenance of amenity planted areas and shrubs at a variety of sites throughout the Borough, ranging from country parks to sheltered housing schemes.

idverde has introduced a number of innovations to the contract, including the new ‘Acorn’ contract management system, resulting in improved efficiency and a significant reduction in costs. The system also offers real time quality monitoring for added transparency between client and contractor.

Commenting on the re-award of the contract, idverde’s chief executive officer, Nick Temple-Heald, said: “After working with Basildon Council for over six years we have a strong managerial, supervisory and operational team in place and have developed an excellent value for money service for the council and its tax payers.

“We look forward to continuing to develop our partnership with Basildon Council over the coming seven years, and delivering the high standards that the council and residents of Basildon have come to expect from idverde.”

Kevin Blake, deputy leader of Basildon Council, added: “We are delighted to announce this contract with idverde which will see us continue to work together over the next seven years, and achieving savings of £122,000 a year.

“The council is responsible for an area of grass equivalent to 770 football pitches and enough hedgerow to stretch nearly two and a half times around the M25, so this contract is a big undertaking.”
