idverde has been carrying out grounds maintenance services to 122 Waterloo Housing Group schemes in Birmingham and Solihull since 01 July 2016.
The contract was awarded following a competitive tendering process, and idverde’s mobilisation and training teams ensured that staff and equipment were ready to commence operations on the contract start date, with no interruption to service for Waterloo Housing Group’s residents.
Works carried out by idverde on behalf of Waterloo Housing Group include grass cutting, hedge trimming, litter picking and leaf collection. The operational teams are supported by managerial and administrative staff at idverde’s Birmingham Mount Street depot. idverde’s Midlands Development Manager will also work with the local teams, liaising with the third sector, organising community and corporate volunteer sessions and gaining funding and sponsorship to develop the service.
The staff who transferred to idverde from the previous contractor received a full company induction, health and safety, and small plant and equipment training before commencing work on 1st July.
Staff also received customer care training to ensure they are sensitive to the diverse needs of Waterloo Housing Groups’ residents, who include elderly residents and those with disabilities. The idverde teams have regular maintenance schedules, aiming to visit the same schemes on the same days each week. Staff wear uniform and carry photographic ID so that they are easily recognisable and will become a familiar and reassuring presence for residents.
Waterloo Housing Group will benefit from idverde’s new reporting system, which enables the client to see site visits and maintenance progress ‘at a glance’ via a visual dashboard.
Commenting on the award of the new contract, idverde’s Regional Director said, “We are extremely pleased to be selected as Waterloo Housing Group’s grounds maintenance provider for the Birmingham and Solihull area. We believe we can offer excellent standards of service and a partnership approach to the contract that provides excellent value to Waterloo Housing Group and its residents.
“We look forward to working together with Waterloo Housing Group and its residents to continue to develop and improve the service over the course of the contract.”
Following the initial contract mobilisation period, Jeff Plant, Head of Communities and Neighbourhoods for Waterloo Housing Group, added: “We have been pleased with the way the new contract has been implemented. We have received excellent communication and the mobilisation process has been clear and efficient. We look forward to working with Quadron idverde over the next two years to provide a service which is really valued by our customers.”
