idverde UK – Two Arborists/Tree Surgeons – based in St Helens
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
- To undertake tree condition surveys and detailed tree inspections.
- To provide quotations, reports and technical support to colleagues, customers and clients as required.
- To undertake ad-hoc and programmed inspections of the trees, entering data onto a computerised system and where necessary specifying remedial works.
- Support the operational team to generate sales and support the estimating team with tenders.
- Complete regular Adhoc quality and safety audits to support the operations team in ensuring compliance with industry best practices, guidelines, and regulations.
- Support the Regional Arboriculture Manager with the upkeep and renewal of the Arboriculture Association accreditation.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
General
- Undertake all routine and specialised tree surveying, focusing on best practice
- Undertake audits of works to ensure quality and safety
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of tree pest and disease developments, national standards relating to trees and developments in arboriculture
- Communicating with clients to provide quotations, reports and technical support
- Transform enquiries to sales
- Accept responsibility and work collaboratively to achieve results
- Communicate effectively, keep managers informed, and listen and ask questions to ensure understanding
- Be reliable in your attendance at work and follow company rules and procedures if absent from work for any reason
Customer
- Create a positive impression with our customers and work to exceed their expectations, presenting a polite and responsible attitude at all times
- Focus on promoting the company wherever possible and feedback potential leads from sites and local press
- Dealing with the public in a respectful and efficient manner, answering questions relating to the site, noting and reporting any complaints to your supervisor
- Represent the company respectfully by wearing the correct corporate clothing, ensuring vehicles and machinery are professionally presented and that sites are kept clean and tidy
SHEQ
- Ensure that works carried out complies and focus on the idverde Health & Safety and Environmental Policy
- Ensure integrity when reporting accidents, near misses and hazards
- Work areas to be assessed with integrity to ensure potential hazards are removed or adequate control measures are in place to implement a safer working environment
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be worn responsibly for each task being undertaken
- Work to risk assessments and COSHH assessments
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Specific tree knowledge is required to undertake asset inspections
- Minimum of QCF level 3 Arboricultural qualification Lantra
- Professional Tree Inspection and relevant industry experience
- IT literate, MS Office programmes, GIS and Asset Management/Survey software Experience of using mobile computing devices Use of Visual Tree Assessment techniques
- Demonstrable previous relevant industry experience is desirable
- Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to communicate professionally, concisely and effectively, particularly to those with and without an understanding of trees and tree-related issues
