About the role

Playground Park Inspector at idverde

An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Playground Park Inspector to join our team in Telford. The main role will involve carrying out detailed safety inspections to playground park equipment within designated parks, open spaces and housing estates. It will also include inspecting and repairing following good practice and industry legislation, as well as ensuring that the working equipment is kept to an acceptable standard.


  • Carry out weekly and daily inspections are carried out
  • Ensure all paperwork relevant to your role is fully completed and submitted in line with company procedure
  • Ensure that any play park equipment that has become damaged, broken or unsafe to users is taken out of service and duly reported
  • Accept responsibility and work collaboratively to achieve results
  • Communicate effectively, keep managers informed, and listen and ask questions to ensure understanding
  • Be efficient and organised, working to company systems e.g. timesheets, work controls tick sheets, rotas
  • Be reliable in your attendance at work and follow company rules and procedures if absent from work for any reason
  • Ensure that works carried out complies and focus on the idverde Health & Safety and Environmental Policy
  • Ensure integrity when reporting accidents, near misses and hazards
  • Work areas to be assessed with integrity to ensure potential hazards are removed or adequate control measures are in place to implement a safer working environment
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be worn responsibly for each task being undertaken
  • Work to risk assessments and COSHH assessments


  • Delivering the program on time or ahead of schedule
  • Client satisfaction with the quality of work delivered
  • Maintaining a consistent attendance recordKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS (These should describe only the essential skills and experience levels required to achieve the principal accountabilities of the job.)
  • Experience of working in the landscape/maintenance industry would be advantageous although full training would be provided
  • RoSPA Certification
  • PA1 and PA6 Pesticide Licence

  • Certificated (or working towards) RoSPA accreditation
  • Knowledge/good understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk assessment process
  • Knowledge and understanding of COSHH, PUWER and HAVS Regulations
  • Professional attitude
  • To be innovative and self-motivated
  • Must be a team player and be respectful of other operatives within the team
  • Must work responsibly as will not always be supervised
