About the role

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The position of South Area Head Gardener has become available in the South of the London Borough of Southwark. You will be responsible for the day-to-day Grounds Maintenance teams set up and for overseeing the horticultural tasks in Dulwich Park and the associated mobile sites in this area. You will be required to carry out work professionally and productively, exceeding the expectations of our clients and the Contract Manager. The post would suit a ‘hands-on’ style Head Gardener with a keen interest in botanical horticulture. Candidates must be Diploma Level qualified (or equivalent qualification) in Amenity/Ornamental Horticulture have a solid grounding in a horticultural environment and a proven ability to prioritize workloads.
The Green flag winning parks in London Borough of Southwark are a mixture of new modern planting and historic gardens, vibrant and multi-cultural. As such, candidates should be familiar with contemporary and historic urban spaces, design and planting schemes. The person should be able to demonstrate a portfolio of design experience covering ecology, conservation, herbaceous perennial and display meadow planting.
