About the role

We are looking for two experienced Cleansing Operatives to join our teams covering the Mendip area.

Purpose of the role

To work as part of a team to deliver a quality service to our clients and customers.

This will include effective communication with your foreman, Supervisor, Manager and customers.  Effective, reliable and responsible performance of work tasks.

Responsibilities of role

  • Collection and removal of litter from contractually designated areas (which will include village streets, laybys, grass verges, open spaces and recreational areas)
  • The maintenance of Council owned litter bins and dog bins
  • Removal of graffiti
  • Removal of fly-tipping
  • Collection of dead animals (roadkill)
  • To provide occasional support outside normal working hours as and when agreed with management
  • To empty litter and dog bins in accordance with the Company’s schedule
  • To apply grit to roads and pavements or similar duties in the event of adverse weather conditions

Full driving licence required

21 days annual leave entitlement.  Plus 8 paid Bank Holidays

Hours of work: 40 hours per week.  Working week – Monday to Friday (8 hours per day)
