Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Cemetery Supervisor to join our team based at Brompton Cemetery

In this role you will be responsible for the administration and delivery of all funerary related operations and services in Brompton Cemetery on behalf of The Royal Parks, coordinating our teams to manage all grave digging and associated funerary operations, including all operational administration.

You will be one of the main points of contact for the site, dealing with a variety of stakeholders including supporting families with all aspects of funerary arrangements, to liaise with clients, funeral directors, and sub-contractors, as well as the general public.

Are you who we are looking for?

  • Relevant professional bereavement training from ICCM e.g. Cemetery Management and Compliance, Management of Memorials, Gravedigging etc.
  • Experience of grave digging operations and other associated burial works.
  • Experience of working within the bereavement industry providing excellent levels of client care.
  • Experience of supervising manual funerary staff working within a cemetery environment.
  • Experience of mapping, marking out and selling of burial plots.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with empathy, patience & discretion. when dealing with clients/service users.
  • Highly numerate and literate, with good written and spoken English.
  • Exceptional planning and organisational skills, able to juggle competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Good knowledge of associated plant and machinery relevant to funerary operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel packages.
  • Good working knowledge of Health & Safety in the work place including Risk Assessments.
