Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an Assistant Contracts Manager to join our Landscape Creation team covering the Midlands.

In this role you will be responsible for the operational management of project activities. Assisting with the financial resources for project activities, focusing on achieving financial targets, ensuring the delivery of first class levels of service, and driving the new business activity in the region.

As an Assistant Contracts Manager you will focus on managing resources on numerous projects at a time to ensure that the projects are running on time and according to budget costs and margins.

You will be involved in project mobilisation ranging from; analysing drawings, putting programs together, sourcing sub-contractors and materials.

Are you who we are looking for?

  • Operational manager with experience in Minor Civil Engineering, Public Realm and Associated Landscaping
  • IOSH or SSSTS or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
  • Experience of working with local authorities, the commercial section and managing operations
  • A good understanding of project management of external works
  • Resourcing and managing of people (direct or sub-contractors)
  • Proven track record of multi contract management within the sector
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Good level of numeracy and financial knowledge
  • Excellent IT skills (Finance system, Excel, Project Management)
