idverde’s Dominic Knower and Kieron Lee have been named among the horticulture and landscaping industry’s rising stars, having made the grade as two of this year’s Pro Landscaper Magazine’s 30 under 30 Class of 2017.
Now in its third year, the 30 under 30 competition was created as a platform for highlighting and celebrating the ambition and drive of young people who have chosen a career in horticulture. Dominic and Kieron follow in the footsteps of idverde’s Paul Sellars, who was selected in 2016, and Paul Toal, Thomas Differ, and Ryan Mills, who were chosen in 2015.
Dominic and Kieron will join 28 up and coming young people from across the industry at a presentation ceremony at the Futurescape event on 14th November 2017 at Sandown Park.
Commenting on Dominic and Kieron’s achievement, idverde HR Director, Andrea Gomm, said: “I am proud and honoured to be part of such a great business that supports the development of people at all ages in our industry. Dominic and Kieron are two very talented individuals who are being recognised for their hard work and commitment. I wish them continued success with their careers at idverde.”
More about Dominic and Kieron:
Dominic Knower – idverde Regional Community Manager, Bootle
Dominic works within idverde’s Greenspace Development Team where his role includes planning and delivering professional services centred on community engagement, education, volunteering and environmental support.
Since joining the company in 2013 as a seasonal staff member, Dominic has risen through the ranks, designing and building a Gold Medal-winning garden at Southport Flower Show and gaining a First Class Honours Degree in Ecology and Conservation along the way.
Dominic says: “Being selected for the 30 under 30 affirms my decision to carve out a career in the horticulture industry. Most importantly it highlights all the people who have invested in me and given me the opportunity to get this far, for which I am extremely grateful. I have many ambitions to fulfil within the industry and I am sure 30 under 30 will take me a step closer to some of those.”
Kieron Lee – idverde Head Gardener at Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park, Southwark
Kieron joined idverde’s legacy company, Quadron, in 2010 as a football attendant and has worked his way through the ranks in a variety of roles, taking on more responsibility each time and demonstrating a great eagerness to learn.
Now a Head Gardener, Kieron leads a team including two gardeners and mentors an apprentice who is working towards an NVQ Level 3 horticultural qualification. Kieron’s positive attitude and determination to go the extra mile has gained him the respect of his colleagues and that of our client, Southwark Council.
Kieron says: “It means a lot to be included on the list and shows that hard work really does pay off. The acknowledgement of your achievements puts things into perspective and really motivates me to continue to achieve even more. I’d also like to thank my manager and colleagues at idverde, who have always been so supportive and encouraging. I couldn’t have achieved so much without their help.”
