On Wednesday 1st June 2016, The Landscape Group (TLG) helped clear up properties within a local housing estate along with Bournemouth Borough Council. The objective of the event was to give residents the opportunity to get rid of unwanted items by bringing them for disposal or by arranging a collection.

Two TLG operatives, William Sexton and Simon Osborne, were tasked with attending properties to collect items that were no longer required, and bring them to a central location within the estate where the items were loaded into large skips.

Bournemouth Parks team provided a tractor and operator, Street Services sent a team to collect bulky items and help load skips as well as a street sweeper to clear up at the end.

Housing Landlord Services organised the whole event and funded the disposal of the skips. Two large roll-on/off skips were filled and three skips of metal items were also taken away.

This event was an excellent opportunity for numerous residents to be involved by not only bring their own items for disposal but also to help clear unwanted items from other properties and the adjoining open space.
