The Project

idverde took part in The Village Renewal Scheme for our client Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, the work took place in Ahoghill, Broughshane, Carnlough and Portglenone.

Our Role

Ahoghill– This scheme included the demolition of a large traffic island at a live busy junction within the Village of Ahoghill. Our works included designing and implementing a bespoke Traffic Management plan for the works, idverde provided new granite kerbs, we also carried out demolition works and service diversions. We installed new bespoke granite plinths for a 5m tall feature Pillar Clock—with GPS sync to Big Ben, London and constructed a raised sleeper bed in complex shapes to complete the design. idverde carried out paving works, infilling with Type 1 sub-base, handrail installation, vehicle barriers and drainage works.

Portglenone Marinaidverde carried out the design, fabrication and installation of new 7m long finger jetties to replace existing 5m long jetties, construction of a new outdoor gym and the relocation and rearrangement of the existing jetty. The project also involved completing and installing a new wet look bark safety surfacing and steel edging.

Carnlough Harbouridverde completed the demolition of the existing harbour quay and the treatment of soft spots and voids. We provided new exposed aggregate surfacing throughout quay and pathways, installed new ducting for lighting and power, new picnic tables and seating areas, new gates and fencing and Type 1 sub-base. The existing quay furniture was relocated and the teams carried out tree planting and implemented soft landscaping and planting works.

Broughshane– The teams at Broughshane carried out the demolition of an existing play park, installed asphalt pathways and created new flood banks and bunds. Ground strengthening works were carried out, drainage and outfalls and safety surfacing were installed. We installed new play park equipment, playground railings and carried out tree surgery services to maintain the safety of the area.
