Hard Landscaping Services
idverde carries out hard landscaping projects to the value of approximately £5M each year across the UK. Our team is experienced in acting either as principal contractor (for local authority or HLF projects) or as a sub-contractor for main contractors.
We can deliver all external works projects, using expertise developed over many years. To date, these works have included complicated hard landscaping projects such as:
- BALI Grand Award winning Media City Development, Salford
- New Birmingham Library, Centenary Square
- Sir Matt Busby Way, Old Trafford, Manchester
- Twickenham Riverside Jubilee Gardens
- Colmore Square, Birmingham
- Manchester Metropolitan University
Our hard landscaping service range is extensive and also includes:
- Car park construction
- Tarmac and pathways
- Restoring historical buildings within parks across the UK
- Planting trees into urban tree pits amongst a network of cables and pipes
We carry out the works using in-house teams with the occasional support of approved specialist sub-contractors. By having a bank of skills and experience to draw upon we are able to deliver all external works and landscaping projects. All of our landscaping operatives are qualified and experienced in their field of operation and are CSCS card holders.
Supervisors will have passed Site Supervisors Safety Training Schemes and our Managers hold a variety of qualifications including either IOSH or NEBOSH training.
Materials are sourced from local and national pre-approved specialist suppliers to source the best value and most appropriate materials for schemes. The quality of the materials and of the subsequent workmanship is paramount. We spend time with the design team to ensure that all parties fully understand what is required, what is actually specified and what the final works must look like.
We go to great lengths to source materials in advance of works commencing to ensure that matching is accurate. This may involve visits for our staff, suppliers and subcontractors to other sites to view existing features to use as examples of what is required.
We prepare sample panels and demonstrations of materials and construction details proposed to ensure that all parties approve the quality of the materials and workmanship required.
For each of our projects, idverde will produce a Quality Plan. The Quality Plan sets out how we measure and monitor the quality of our work and ensures a good relationship with the client and other parties involved in the project. Part of the quality process is to assess all elements of work for anything that may prevent or delay completion. All subcontractors are involved in this process and regular team meetings are used to highlight areas where problems might arise and to develop method statements and programming to avoid potential problems.
The aim of all of these systems and the close relationship between all parties is to rectify any problems in good time prior to handover and thus achieve a zero defects score. Management of the numerous interfaces between the trades on site can often be the cause of problems in finishes. By co-ordinating all trades, idverde is able to manage and mitigate the majority of potential problems.
