idverde celebrates success in 2023

As the UK’s leading provider of grounds maintenance and landscape creation services, with a passion for creating and maintaining award-winning green spaces for communities, businesses, and the public sector, it has been another busy year for idverde. In 2023, idverde achieved some remarkable milestones.

idverde managed parks win over 125 prestigious Green Flag Awards

More than 125 of idverde managed parks and green spaces have received the Green Flag Award, an international quality mark for excellence in environmental standards. The award scheme, run by Keep Britain Tidy, recognises the best parks and green spaces across the UK and beyond. idverde’s awards span from London to Somerset, showcasing its commitment to creating and maintaining beautiful and sustainable green spaces for the benefit of communities and wildlife.

idverde wins Principal Award for Grounds Maintenance at Europe’s Largest Industry Awards Event

idverde was awarded a coveted Principal Award at the 2023 BALI (British Association of Landscaping Industries) National Landscaping Awards ceremony, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London. The company’s prestigious Regent’s Park contract, one of five Royal Park contracts in the portfolio, has been recognised for excellence in grounds maintenance in the free public access category.  BALI Principal Awards are given to projects which demonstrate the most exceptional standards within the category.

idverde celebrated six years of partnership with RSPB
idverde have been working in close partnership with the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) for six years, achieving significant nature conservation outcomes across the country. The partnership combines the commercial expertise of idverde and the ecological knowledge of the RSPB, enhancing habitats for wildlife and engaging communities with their local environment. The partnership covers projects in various regions, such as Bromley, Wormwood Scrubs, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the Midlands and Northern Ireland. Some of the highlights include creating habitats and boxes for the endangered swift, discovering rare orchids, conducting surveys and events, and hosting an inspirational conference.

idverde wins Grounds Maintenance Award at First Pro Landscaper Sustainability & Biodiversity Awards
idverde won the Grounds Maintenance Company award at the Pro Landscaper Sustainability & Biodiversity Awards 2023. These awards recognise the environmental benefits that companies and projects in the sector provide. idverde is committed to creating and maintaining green spaces that enhance biodiversity and sustainability, and works closely with the RSPB to achieve this goal.

Re-awarded Contract with Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
idverde’s contract with London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) to manage and maintain the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (QEOP) was re-awarded for another 10 years. The contract is worth £30m and is based on idverde’s successful track record of delivering nature restoration, increased biodiversity, new planted areas, and job opportunities at the park.

Plantscape, Stratford in Bloom and Stratford BID join forces to create exceptional floral displays throughout the town’s centre
idverde’s floral experts at Plantscape came together with Stratford in Bloom and Stratford BID, working alongside Stratford-upon-Avon council to develop the best floral displays the community has seen yet. Plantscape were awarded the contracts, and not only met, but exceeded expectations of their requirements, through the inclusion of pollinator friendly plants with a peat free growing medium in 7-day watering planters. Creating a floral display designed to boost local biodiversity.

idverde achieves third successive carbon neutral year

idverde reflected on the company’s carbon journey this year, celebrating its third successive year as a carbon neutral business, having achieved the Carbon Neutral International Standard, certified by One Carbon World.

idverde’s success in managing two historic Royal events, the State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and the Coronation of King Charles III

The Green Park, Hyde Park and St. James’s Park were key sites for both visitors and the formal events surrounding the Lying in State, the State Funeral and the Accession of King Charles III. This responsibility included The Mall and Horse Guards Parade.Whether sweeping The Mall or collecting litter for recycling, the team went above and beyond to fulfil King Charles III’s wishes for the Coronation to be as sustainable as possible. The Royal Parks saw a significant increase in visitor numbers during these times, teams worked 24/7 to ensure that the parks were always tidy, well maintained and looking their best.
